Kamienica – a river not for everyone (multi-day trip)
This is not a river for raw greenhorns in tandems. Above Kamieniec it's better suited to single kayaks and skilled kayakers – this section can discourage or even frighten novices.
Especially the stretch from the hydroelectric power plant to the trout farm in Kamieniec is very fast, varied with trees and stones jutting out of the river. A moment's inattention or an ill-considered manoeuvre – and you land in the rushing, cold water.
What awaits you on the water
A demanding character
The Kamienica trail can be troublesome, but the obstacles are easy to avoid, and the portages occasional and over short distances. The river, however, requires experience because of its fast current. Two-person kayaks can only be considered from Kamieniec and only at a high water level.
The junction with the Słupia – all the way to the sea
The trip can be continued along the Słupia river from the village of Gałąźnia Mała all the way to Ustka. It's a way to crown the wild Kamienica with a classic finish by the Baltic.
