Skotawa, or a changeable current (multi-day trip)
Our own proposal for an alternative trip on the Słupia. It covers a little-known but exceptionally beautiful and interesting – read: difficult – tributary of the Słupia, namely the Skotawa. It's a small river: in its upper course it flows through meadows, in the lower through wild forests.
The lower section in particular abounds in numerous trees submerged in the current and rapids. After the famous storm „Xaver”, getting past them without getting out of the kayak is a real challenge. We recommend single kayaks.
What awaits you on the water
A virgin section to the Słupia
A certain difficulty is the long portage in Dębnica Kaszubska – but the reward for getting past it is paddling an almost virgin section of the river all the way to its junction with the Słupia, through the Skarszów Dolny power plant. Very few people have had the chance to paddle here, and the stretch is exceptionally beautiful.
A finish on the Słupia – to Ustka
We continue the trip along the Słupia all the way to its mouth at the Baltic in Ustka, passing along the way sections with a swift current and numerous fallen trees. A powerful, satisfying crowning.
